The Getty Center

Los Angeles, CA.

Los Angeles, CA.

February 2009, I was getting acclimated to living on the West Coast. Being a native Floridian, there were no mountains and we lived not too far above sea level back home. I was in awe. One of my first photography classes ventured out to L.A. to visit The Getty Center and learn about some history in photography.

Again, it was incredible. I do have to point out, early this morning, a 4.4 earthquake hit the Los Angeles area. I’m glad that everyone is okay. Most of the people I went to college with still live there.

With that said, it still shocks me on how properties are built in that area. The Getty Center itself is high above ground, protruding  from the side of a mountain. It looks cool, but not the best place to be logically if a strong earthquake hits.

In this gallery of photos, you’ll see what I mean.
